[Well, that knocks her off balance. She keeps squawking over and over again for Bond to let her go, that this isn't fair, and getting more and more pissed as she flails uselessly against the older Pokémon's grip.

Eventually, she lets out a frustrated series of clucks. She gives up, okay?! That's what she wants, right?! Ugh! You've proven your point!]

[Her grip loosens, but she doesn't let go just yet. Instead, Bond tilts her head, regarding the little bird. You have talent, but you haven't honed it. You fight helpless bugs and think that just because they cower before you, that makes you powerful. You know nothing about power until you see stark terror in the eyes of something that, by all rights, should be able to destroy you. Don't you want that?]

[Sriracha falls quiet for a few moments, contemplating Bond's questions. On the one hand, she does want that. But on the other hand, she's stubborn and angry and beat up. And her first instinct is to want to say no just to spite Bond. Eventually, however, the desire to get better and kick ass wins out.

She just grumbles out a response. She GUESSES that'd be nice, maybe. Now, can Bond let go of her?]

[The Talonflame's grip tightens again. She doesn't care how that scientist has been raising you, you will address her respectfully and not like a petulant child. And as stupid as they are, you must promise to stop attacking trainers, particularly your own. They're not worth the effort. And Bond will find out if it happens again. Does she make herself clear?]

[Sriracha lets out a pained squawk. She understands, she understands! Will she teach her how to get better if she agrees to that?

For Arceus's sake, this bird is tough as nails. She doesn't see why she has to do any of this stuff! Ridiculous. Ugh. She doesn't verbalize it, however.]

[Good enough for now. With a final nod, Bond lets go. She'll teach you if you continue to show signs of being worth teaching. This is on her terms. Not yours.]

[After a moment's hesitation, she nods, still a little miffed from the earilier attacks. Very well. She'll prove herself, you'll see! She uses her claws to try and preen herself and straighten out her feathers before fluffing up.

Egon, meanwhile, had been watching all this unfold and turns to Venkman to say--]

I believe your bird just attempted to put Sriracha in a chokehold.

[Bond begins to preen as well, combing her beak through the feathers on her keel- still keeping a wary eye on the Combusken as she does so.]
