[Ray nuzzles against Venkman.]

I remembered the memory Sig erased from our minds.

Before she erased it, you told me how scared you were about losing your memories.

I’m so sorry Venkie.

[Venkman frowns, trying to comprehend this. A flicker of recognition. Then-]

Ray.

[He turns around to face him, suddenly alert.]

Ray, this means the memory wipe wasn't permanent!

[Venkman pulls Ray into a hug, overcome with relief.]

Wha-?

[Well, he’s glad Venkman’s taking this well!

Ray smiles and gently kisses him on the cheek.]

So do you remember fifth grade now?

[His eyes narrow in thought.]

... Fifth grade the carny spent most of its time in the midwest. Changed schools a lot. We were in Indiana the longest. Dad nearly got his ass kicked after scamming some farmers. [Venkman shakes his head. Still don't know why he stole a chicken.

Yeah, it's all back. When'd you notice?

[ghoststanning]

Hey maybe you met Egon as a kid!

[Ray hugs Venkman tighter and buries his face into the crook of his neck.]

I was just overcome with a feeling of guilt, and I tried to remember what was the cause of it before I remembered the conversation we had the other day.

Definitely not. If I'd met Egon as a kid, I'd've known it when I met him in college. He already leaves a lasting impression on people- there's no way he wasn't worse as a kid.

[Venkman tilts his head to kiss Ray on the ear, pulling him closer.]

I'm sorry I got so frustrated. I shouldn't've tried blaming you.

You don’t know; Egon could have been a perfectly normal child and he kept that a secret from us this whole time!

[Ray responds by kissing Venkman’s neck.]

It’s not your fault, though. I was too busy letting my curiosity get the better of me and didn’t even consider the consequences you would face.

[He hums a little, smiling at the kisses.]

Nah-uh. Everything that man's told us about his childhood is a dystopian nightmare. And besides, I met his parents.

[That thought sobers him up a little.]

... Anyway- we were both a little stupid, alright? Honestly, who knows, Sig could've been messing with our emotions on top of our memories at the time. But it's fine. Sig's starting to learn not to screw with people's heads. We've got our memories back.

[ghoststanning]

Yeah, you have a point. I’m sure I’d turn out the same way if they were my parents.

[Ray takes this as encouragement and continues kissing him.]

Aww, I’m sure that’s not her fault. She loves us, I don’t see why she would purposely make us angry.

[Kisses.]

Let’s just say we were both stupid.

[It's definitely encouragement, considering the way Venkman tilts his head to give Ray better access to his neck.]

Probably not purposeful, just curious and tapping into stuff she shouldn't.

We're always kinda stupid. But we're stupid in love, or whatever.

[Venkman's not eloquent at the best of times, and he did just wake up like five minutes ago.]

[Ray laughs lightly.]

Think about how much smarter we would be if we weren't in each other's lives.

[He hugs Venkman tighter.]

But I would rather be the biggest moron in the universe than be who I am without you guys.

Would we be smarter? I feel like I'd be a whole lot dumber. Wouldn't have had you guys drag me through college, for one. Or talk to me about a bunch of useless science junk- and Winston with his English major stuff- and make me learn against my will.

... Then again, that's all just me. You guys would probably be smarter without me. [He frowns a little, more thoughtful than actually upset about that little (kinda true) revelation.]

[Ray shifts up slightly to give Venkman a sympathetic smile.]

Maybe I would be, but I would also be a lot less happy without you.

[Venkman kisses him on the nose.]
